Winter Classic Tailgating Recycling

Hockey fans tailgating before the 2011 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic® can rack up an assist with recycling efforts outside Heinz Field on New Year's Day. The Pennsylvania Resources Council and its partners – through funding from the Alcoa Foundation – will collect aluminum cans, glass containers, and plastic bottles and cups in six designated parking lots outside the stadium. Let's Tackle Recycling

In December, Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC) and its campaign partners will launch a "Let's Tackle Recycling" campaign to collect materials in Heinz Field parking lots during the final three 2010 regular season Steelers home games. The effort will include distributing blue plastic bags to those entering designated parking lots and staffing a "drop off" station outside the stadium. "Let's Tackle Recycling" is sponsored by PRC and the Alcoa Foundation in partnership with Alco Parking, City of Pittsburgh Environmental Services, Greenstar, Pittsburgh Steelers and the Sports & Exhibition Authority.
